Homebrew Gossips: Making India Ready to Decode the Wine Decorum

Wine has been a part of our civilisations for thousands of years and is seen as a sophisticated and a stylish drink compared to others like whiskey, scotch, and rum. Harbouring humongous popularity in the last few decades, wine consumption has grown manifold in India, thanks to its fantastic health benefits. However, unfortunately, there is a lack of awareness about how wine should be consumed or even served in India.

The millennials these days love to explore new cultures and concepts and even experiment with the latest trends, but at the same time remain concerned about their health and well-being. The adoption of wine in their way of life is a crucial change that is fueling its consumption in India.  

Various initiatives have been seen emerging on awareness of such history rich culture with the aim to promote the wine culture at the root level in India. One such is this homegrown venture of a multifaceted personality Dr. Babita Biswas, Homebrew Gossips, that came up with a workshop series on ‘Decode Wine Decorum with Beauty, Health and Wellness’ to enlighten citizens about the eclecticism Wine tasting has, while also enlightening about the home brewing of Wine on a small scale for personal as well as non-commercial purpose.

Wine tasting is a three sip process, experiencing the magic of wine in three sips: enhance the palate, register the taste, and explore the properties and specialties of the wine overall. The key highlight of the workshop being the Sangria – a unique blend popular in Spain and Portugal, would be taught to participants in the workshop by Dr Babita Biswas, who is considered a master in India.

“Not only Homegrew conducts the sessions to bring about the much needed awareness about wine and the great benefits it has on human health, but also provides all the attendees with samples of their signature wine collection. Wine tasting sessions are also an integral part of the workshop,” says Dr Biswas.

Homebrew Gossips doesn’t just serve wine connoisseurs with some of the most innovative and unique flavours but also educates the consumers about wine culture and etiquettes.  ‘Decode Wine Decorum’ is one such initiative that aims to develop a community of wine lovers in India.

There is a greater need for illuminating people, about the concepts and delicacies of Wine, for especially youngsters who’s youth is more likely to be inclined towards alcohol and other addictions. The rich flavours and aromas of wine are sought to go from a social drink of the classes to one of the masses.

This interesting workshop is taking place in metros and tier 1 cities of India, welcome for all. The interested individuals may register themselves. Homebrew gossip is also a project, an initiative, more than a business that helps societal victims through spreading awareness about the merits and demerits associated with consumption.

Through the years, our tastes have grown exceptionally and taste is one such necessary luxury almost every human has been presented with. Trying out different foods and drinks, enjoying their flavours and tastes is what makes life better in some ways. With the introduction of wine thousands of years ago in India, it’s time to take it to a more sophisticated and health consciously enlightening way.
