Empowering India’s Future: The Case for Early AI Education and Leadership

AI is technologically a high end domain. It is answer to filling the skill gap in all the aspects of our lives.

Its applications are all pervasive in military and space technologies, manufacturing, healthcare and agriculture to say the least. As I believe, other than replacing teachers, AI can be an answer to all other challenges in our lives including the surgery.

Therefore, students should be introduced to AI as early as possible so that India can take an early stride in AI. India has a distinct advantage in excelling in AI  becsuse we already excel in the information technology domain as one of the global leaders.

AI is directly aligned to the information technology as all its applications are sourced out of the computer savviness.

Early application of AI during schooling can give a head start to India to catch up with the global leaders like the western world, Japan and China. All the skill deficiencies in the technology sectors can be meted out by the early strides in AI.

AI can also be of great significance in employment generation in future because in forseeable future, AI will penetrate every segment of the society as we see the penetration of information technology in every household.

India has already missed out a bit on the early strides in AI. It is about time that we bridge this time gap and empower our people to be in leadership position in AI as we have attained in the  information technology.
