A Kitchen Mishap Led to Healthy Revolution: The Indus Valley Story

Chennai (Tamil Nadu), [India], April 8, 2024: A simple kitchen incident in 2015 sparked a health-conscious culinary revolution. The Indus Valley, India’s premier brand of healthy cookware, was born from a personal quest for safer alternatives.

Co-founders Madhumitha Udaykumar and Jagadeesh Kumar experienced a kitchen mishap involving plastic cookware. This eye-opening experience made them realise the importance of using safe utensils for healthy food preparation. Searching for cookware that wouldn’t leach chemicals into their food, they discovered a gap in the market. Existing options were either unhealthy, unreliable or simply unavailable.

This led  Madhumitha Udaykumar and Jagadeesh Kumar to start a new journey, and in March 2016, The Indus Valley was born. Driven by a mission to transform Indian kitchens, it offers a range of 100% toxin-free cookware with no chemical coatings. The brand’s products use only healthy materials like cast iron, sheet iron, tri-ply stainless steel, wood, clay, copper, brass, and bronze.

The brand has a strong appeal among Indian customers. Since its launch, The Indus Valley has garnered a loyal following of over 10 lakh customers across 10,000+ pin codes. From cooking enthusiasts and fitness advocates to food bloggers and health-conscious individuals, its commitment to healthy cooking has been widely embraced.

Recently, The Indus Valley celebrated a milestone – its 8th anniversary with a unique event. The brand hosted valued consumers and honoured influencers and its esteemed investors. The highlight of the event was the reveal of its new Tri-Steel Stainless Steel Cookware range by a select group of lucky customers.

This people-centered approach represents The Indus Valley’s core values. It believes in empowering people to make healthy decisions for themselves and their families. By offering safe and toxin-free cookware, The Indus Valley is improving Indian kitchens one healthy meal at a time.
