Chennai, (Tamil Nadu) [India] February 23, 2026: In a powerful step towards strengthening women-led economic independence, Infinite Seva, powered by Punjab National Bank, organized the Mega Sewing Machine Distribution Function 2026 at Bharathiyar Mandapam, Lok Bhavan, Chennai, transforming aspirations into opportunities for hundreds of rural women.

The Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu, R. N. Ravi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and personally distributed sewing machines to the beneficiaries. Applauding the initiative, he emphasized that true empowerment begins with financial independence and self-reliance. He noted that such grassroots livelihood programs not only uplift individual families but also contribute significantly to the State’s socio-economic development.

A total of 533 sewing machines were distributed to deserving rural women, enabling them to establish tailoring units and home-based enterprises. For many beneficiaries, the sewing machine represents more than a livelihood tool — it symbolizes dignity, confidence, and the ability to shape a better future for their families.

The programme was presided over by Tmt. CA Nalini Padmanabhan, Chairperson of Infinite Seva, who reiterated the organization’s mission of fostering sustainable livelihood opportunities through skill-based empowerment. She highlighted that empowering women economically creates a ripple effect that benefits entire communities.

Special Guests of Honour, Dr. A.S. Ganesan, Chancellor, Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation, Salem, and Thiru P. Mahendar, Zonal Manager, Punjab National Bank, Chennai, underlined the importance of institutional support, financial inclusion, and community partnerships in driving long-term impact. The event saw an enthusiastic gathering of around 200 participants, including beneficiaries, dignitaries, banking officials, social workers, and supporters, marking a meaningful milestone in advancing women-led entrepreneurship and grassroots economic growth in Tamil Nadu.

With every stitch sewn, the initiative aims to weave stories of resilience, independence, and empowerment — turning simple tools into powerful instruments of transformation.
