Pitra Paksha-becoming significant for real estate investments: Sachin Arora

Pitra Paksha-becoming significant for real estate investments: Sachin Arora

Pitra Paksha is considered as one of the most important auspicious ceremonies in Hindu culture for performing the rite for deceased forefathers as a peace offering to their ancestors.

Pitru Paksha also known as Tarpana or Shraddha, falls in the second fortnight (Paksha) of the lunar-10 month of Bhadrapada or September which follows the fortnight of Ganesha Utsav.

Last years before, it was a hypothetical belief that the period of shraddha is the ceremonial period of moan where buying any new accessories, gold, financial assets or property is highly neglected and inauspicious and so is followed by many Hindus. But now, after many years, analysis speaks a different story.

The story behind Shradhha as per Hindu sacred text is Rishi Atri– one of the sons of Lord Brahma was the first person to decipher this ritual as devised by Lord Brahma himself, to his son Nimi Rishi. Infact, the Shraddha performed by Goddess Sita gave moksha (freed from the cycle of rebirth) to Dashratha (father of lord Ram). Not only this, shradhha is a mandate to all the Hindus.

“People back then believed it is not a good time to make any investment as it’s the fortnight of moaning. Though, after many year now people started realizing that this ceremony is not upto moan but a great chance to offer their forefathers Moksha and Peace by performing rituals within the period, like offering food to the needies (Charity), Brahmins,(Brahma-Bhoj), Gau Daan (charity of cows/ for cows) and special Pooja/Yagya/Hawan, as a note of thanks to them. Not only this, it is also believed that during this period, the ancestors and forefathers of living ones, visit to present generation to shower the prosperity and blessings.” said Sachin Arora, Real Estate Entrepreneur and Director of Investors Clinic Infratech Private Limited.

Sachin continued, “This change brought a huge significance in the market of real estate. From the last two-three years, people are fully fledged to invest in the realty sector.”

On the actual ground, a few generations ago, to show the gratitude towards the forefather, entire Hindu society mutually decided to spend these complete 15 days period, to show their gratitude towards the forefathers and not to perform any other activity (excluding livelihood activities) like not to perform another pooja (excluding shraddha poojan), arrange any social gathering like marriage, celebrations even not to go out to buy anything while giving importance to the rituals performed over the period. But due to the lack of knowledge, the very next generation afterwards, adopted this as a mandate without understanding the sense or concept of the custom or rite and generation next to that adopted it as a taboo to buy anything during this period following up by succeeding other next generation to brought this more downward as not a good time to start any new venture.

Later on, it came in practice that this time period is accursed for any auspicious or good thing (including any new purchase of gold, clothes, pots or property any transaction made over any living or nonliving things.) But in the light of actual knowledge about the concept of Pitra Paksha made life easier as it was in the beginning of the rite.

“The result is, from the last few years, people are eagerly waiting for this auspicious and blissful period of tarpana for doing something new from starting a venture or to buy a memorable asset in the name of forefathers as token of their love, gratitude and dedication towards them; like people wait for Navratri, Diwali, Dussehra, Ganesh Utsav, etc.

It resulted in huge number of buyers in any market (real estate, gold, utensils, appliances, etc.) in comparison of, not immense, but in just 10 years, we have witnessed, wherein marketplaces sellers were waiting for a single buyer a day and it was called as a cleaning period.” said Sachin Arora.

Nowadays, market is performing higher than normal days and this year, it is supposed to break the record of last year at double as in this year, it has no impact of C-19 or any other crisis.

“If before reading this, you were also one among them who was not aware of the spirit of this auspicious timeline, and abstained from starting or to buy anything new, now the market is open for you in the light of knowledge. Well after the 5 year crisis, it is giving a good short term and long term returns to investors and a happy deal to its buyers. Of course I am talking about real estate and Noida is the hot cake for the entire buyer lobby either investor or the end users, local or NRI both. Especially good upcoming landmarks, commercials by reputed developers like Paras, M3M, H&S, Godrej, Lodha, Kalp-Taru, Tata, DLF, Prestige Elan and the list is a little big.” concluded Sachin Arora.

“Pitra-Paksha ki Shubhkamnayein”
