NATIONAL OPEN FULL CONTACT KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 hosted by Shivaji Gaanguly’s Academy Mind & Body, commenced with a prestigious inauguration ceremony graced by Mr. Katsunori Ashida, Deputy Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, as the Chief Guest, alongside Hanshi Shivaji Ganguly. The tournament was officially inaugurated at 4:30 PM at South City International School.
A special highlight of the event was the Book Launch Ceremony of “The Living Legend of Indian Karate -The Life of Hanshi Shivaji Ganguly”, authored by Avik Bhattacharya, celebrating the extraordinary journey and legacy of the martial arts icon.
This year’s championship saw an overwhelming response, with 600+ participants representing 18+ states across India. Competitors took part across multiple age and weight divisions in Children’s, Sub-Junior, Junior, and Adult groups, participating in three major event categories: Kihon, Kata, and Kumite, in both male and female groups.
The Championship Finals, held on 30th December, showcased outstanding performances and the participants delivered powerful displays of technique, grit, and sportsmanship, earning well-deserved recognition.
